To distribute Android apps through Google Play, you need a Google Play Console account. You then create a Google Cloud service account with API access and store the JSON in the Application Platform.
Create a Play Console account
- Open play.google.com/console and sign in with a Google account.
- Accept the terms and complete the one-time registration (fee and process: see current Google help for Play Console).
- Optionally create an organization and invite teammates with appropriate roles.
What you need before the API setup
- An app, or at least access to the Play Console project that will receive builds.
- Permission to invite a service account under Users and permissions / API access (Google Cloud).
Next step
When Play Console is ready, configure the service account and JSON: Play Store credentials.
